Earlier this week, Sanlorenzo inaugurated Casa Sanlorenzo in Venice, a new cultural venue established under the banner of Sanlorenzo Arts. The opening coincided with the first edition of Venice Climate Week and the 2025 Venice Architecture Biennale, with SuperYacht Times in attendance.
Situated opposite the Basilica di Santa Maria della Salute, the 1940s property has been restored under the direction of Piero Lissoni and Lissoni & Partners. Their approach preserves key architectural elements, while introducing contemporary features suited to exhibitions and events. The site spans approximately 1,000 square-metres and includes a 600 square-metre garden. It comprises both a private apartment and a public exhibition space.
Casa Sanlorenzo is conceived as a place for interdisciplinary dialogue, bridging contemporary creativity with historical context. The initiative reflects Sanlorenzo’s broader ambition to move beyond its traditional role in luxury yacht manufacturing and take on an active cultural presence.
A newly constructed bridge, also designed by Lissoni & Partners, links the venue to the surrounding neighbourhood. Inspired by traditional Venetian humpback bridges, it combines modern materials and engineering. The surface is clad in Istrian stone, while the wooden handrail, shaped to resemble an oar, references Venice’s maritime heritage. Beyond its practical function, the bridge symbolises a cultural connection between disciplines and communities.
According to Massimo Perotti, Executive Chairman of Sanlorenzo, the project reflects a commitment to fostering authenticity and shared experience in an increasingly virtual world. “Casa Sanlorenzo becomes a place where one enters to stop, reflect and share,” he noted. “It is a space of research, where art interrogates, design guides, and beauty carries meaning.”
Blending artistic vision, architectural innovation and cultural programming, Casa Sanlorenzo introduces a new dimension to the brand’s identity. As a site of reflection, engagement and collaboration, it highlights a step in Sanlorenzo’s wider cultural engagement.
