SuperYacht Times' Features Editor Leona Caanen takes a closer look at some of the most innovative and recent additions to the superyacht tender and dayboat market.

Tykun X | Gruppo MED

Recognised at the Monaco Yacht Show Blue Wake™ Awards for its H1 hydrogen propulsion system developed with Tesya Group, the Tykun H1 is built by MED Group.

Tykun is a new range of chase boats for superyachts and waterfront villas, developed by MED Group in strategic collaboration with Benedetta Iovane. The design, by Tommaso Spadolini, takes inspiration from the shipyard’s MED DEFENSE division, which has built over 400 vessels in the past decade.

Available in three sizes, 8-, 10-, and 12-metres, Tykun can reach speeds exceeding 55 knots, depending on configuration and propulsion type. The 10-metre aluminium tender, which debuted in Monaco, is powered by outboard engines and features ample storage space, a seating area that converts into a sunbed, and a bathroom that doubles as a changing room and can accommodate a crew member.

The recently released Lekker 38 is the latest addition to the Lekker fleet. Stretching 11.6 metres with a 3.6-metre beam, the entire tender is made of aluminium and built in the Netherlands. Completely customisable, equipped with triple Mercury outboards, she can reach a top speed of nearly 60 knots as she cuts through the water with her deep V-hull.

She can host up to 14 people on board her spacious lounge deck, which houses two sunbeds, a high-low table, two fridges and three helm seats. She has a single state room with a sink and dayhead, making the Lekker 38 an ideal dayboat, whether for an outing with friends or a romantic weekend getaway.

VanDutch 75 | Cantiere del PardoThe VanDutch 75 marks a brand new chapter for the Italian brand in which they translate the unmistakable VanDutch identity into a more sophisticated tender while maintaining the brand’s spirit. The renewed tender debuted the ‘cool’ configuration, with pearl burl veneers, matte slate black wood, and suede upholstery, at the Cannes Yachting Festival. A ‘smooth’ variant, made with warmer tones, will also be available.

Spanning 21 metres, the VanDutch 75 sports a completely fiber hard-top and can go up to 40 knots, thanks to her triple Volvo D13 - IPS 1350. She can host up to 16 people on board for a day of yachting, and can sleep six guests and two crew. While her spacious deck, with an alfresco dining area and two convertible tables, is designed by the original VanDutch designer, Mulder Design, her interiors are designed by BurdissoCapponi Yacht&Design.
