Northrop & Johnson has announced the appointment of Ugur Sahin as Yacht Broker, based in the company’s Monaco office. With nearly 20 years of experience spanning both the marine and automotive sectors, Sahin brings a unique blend of strategic acumen and production expertise to the global brokerage firm.
Sahin began his yachting career in 2007 as Sales and Marketing Director for the Turkish distributor of Fairline and Regal Boats. Under his direction, the company’s offering grew to include Prestige Yachts, Jeanneau Motorboats, Numarine and Azimut.
After 15 years in senior management, he transitioned into direct yacht sales, taking on dual roles as Sales Manager and Project Manager at Numarine. This period not only deepened his client relations skills, but also gave him valuable hands-on experience in the yacht construction process.
Before entering the yachting world, Sahin held key positions at DaimlerChrysler Group and the Volkswagen Group. However, his connection to the water, which was shaped by a family heritage of naval officers and a youth spent windsurfing on the Bosphorus, eventually steered him back to a maritime career.
In his new role with Northrop & Johnson, Sahin is set to deliver a tailored, client-first approach to both buyers and sellers. Backed by a degree in Economics and a strong foundation in design and construction, he aims to combine market insight with personalised service to support clients at every stage of the transaction.
Speaking about his new position, Sahin shared his enthusiasm for joining the Monaco team: “I’m proud to be part of a globally respected brokerage house and look forward to contributing to its continued growth while delivering exceptional value to clients.”
