Marine technology manufacturer Dometic has introduced Ocean Clarity, a patent-pending clear cording technology for blinds used in marine interiors.
Dometic says Ocean Clarity uses UV-stabilised monofilament cord construction intended to reduce the visual presence of blind systems while maintaining external sightlines within interior spaces. The technology is compatible with Dometic Skysol Classic and Honeycomb blind systems.
According to Dometic, the cording material is designed for long-term durability and consistent operation in marine environments. Its lower visual profile allows installation across a range of blind layouts and custom configurations, whether blinds are open or closed.
The company says changing approaches to yacht interior design have placed greater emphasis on layouts that maximise natural light and preserve visual connections throughout onboard spaces. Ocean Clarity has been developed to support those requirements through transparent cording intended to minimise visual interruption.
Eric Fetchko, president of Dometic’s marine segment, says: “Blind systems play an important role in both the functionality and overall feel of an interior. With our patent-pending Ocean Clarity, we wanted to develop a solution that performs reliably in marine environments while contributing to a cleaner and more contemporary onboard atmosphere.”
Ocean Clarity is intended for marine use and is available for both new-build and refit projects. The technology is now available across compatible Dometic blind systems through the company’s authorised distributor network.
Dometic develops products for mobile living across cooling, heating, power and electronics, mobility and space optimisation categories. The company employs approximately 7,000 people and sells products in more than 100 countries.
In 2025, Dometic reported net sales of SEK 21bn ($2.3bn) and is headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden.
In April 2026, the company appointed Per Carlsson as acting chief financial officer, succeeding Stefan Fristedt, who announced plans to leave the company in late 2025.
