The first interior images of the 111-metre hybrid-electric Oceanco superyacht Leviathan have been unveiled. Currently one of the largest yachts built by the Dutch shipyard to date, she was delivered in 2025 to Valve co-founder and Oceanco shareholder Gabe Newell.
Her interiors are designed by Mark Berryman Design, reflecting Gabe's strong emphasis on functionality and crew wellbeing. Speaking during an exclusive interview at the Monaco Yacht Show 2025, the owner highlighted the importance of creating a vessel that works seamlessly for those onboard. In response, the design team worked closely with him to develop a yacht that prioritises efficiency, with systems and materials selected to reduce repetitive maintenance tasks for the crew.
Leviathan features exterior design by Oceanco, with naval architecture developed by the shipyard in collaboration with Lateral Naval Architects, and input from the owner’s representatives Y.CO and YTMC. The result reflects the owner’s desire to foster a more integrated relationship between guests and crew.
Construction began in 2020, with her stern transported to Oceanco’s Zwijndrecht facility in 2022. She was later moved to the outfitting stage at the Alblasserdam facility, where she was seen outside the shed for the first time in 2023.
The newly released images showcase a series of highly social, communal spaces. The bridge deck houses a gaming lounge with 15 stations, while the aft deck features a swimming pool, relaxed seating areas and an outdoor cinema. As part of the fleet operated by Gabe's organisation Inkfish, which supports scientific research and marine exploration, Leviathan is also equipped with a dive centre, laboratory, 3D printing workshop and an onboard hospital, occupying the space traditionally reserved for a beach club.
Further highlights include a communal dining area for up to 54 guests, two racing simulators and multiple informal lounges. Crew wellness has also been carefully considered, with dedicated areas finished in oak and wenge, alongside shared recreational spaces such as a basketball court, whirlpool and gym.
With a volume of approximately 4,970 GT, Leviathan can accommodate up to 26 guests and 37 crew. In line with Gabe's belief that a yacht should feel like a community, spaces typically reserved for guests have been reimagined for shared use, reinforcing a more collaborative onboard environment.
Leviathan is fitted with Bolidt composite decking featuring a bespoke pattern, developed in collaboration with Oceanco and the crew to enhance heat dissipation and long-term durability. Additional exterior elements include bead-blasted stainless-steel railings, synthetic handrails and an off-white finish to reduce cleaning frequency.
During development, Oceanco and Lateral Naval Architects collaborated with MARIN to refine hull performance and onboard comfort. The result is a hull that represents the latest evolution of Lateral’s DE-Series platform, engineered specifically for large yachts with podded propulsion operating at moderate speeds.
The yacht achieves a natural roll period of over 12 seconds, supported by a stabilisation system combining Quantum MagLift and XT fins. Extensive model testing informed the optimisation of beam, waterplane and GM targets, while a seawater ballast system ensures optimal loading conditions.
In terms of propulsion, Leviathan is powered by two ABB DO980P Azipods and is equipped with a 5.5 megawatt hour battery system, enabling silent operation during night-time hours and peak-shaving capabilities to improve overall fuel efficiency.
