Upgraded Silver Spirit Welcomes Guests Back in Europe

The Silver Spirit resumed service for Silversea Cruises earlier this month after undergoing a series of upgrades during a drydock in the Mediterranean.

After spending over a month at a shipyard, the 2009-built ship welcomed guests back for a repositioning voyage to Northern Europe.

According to a press release, the ship’s revitalization aimed at enhancing guests’ experiences with refreshed public spaces and an expanded culinary offering.

One of the highlights of the project is the addition of Silversea’s S.A.L.T. (Sea and Land Taste) program, which is said to deepen cultural and culinary connections to each destination visited by the vessel.

Silversea also updated the pool deck of the Spirit, introducing a new poolside concept inspired by the Mediterranean’s iconic coastal cities.

The company stated that the venue was designed to evolve with the pace of the day, offering curated music, casual dining, Mediterranean-inspired beverages and an active, open-air deck space.

Other changes included an update to the ship’s Venetian Lounge, which now offers new drapery, updated carpeting, reupholstered banquettes and a new state-of-the-art LED wall.

“The completion of the Silver Spirit’s revitalization marks an important milestone for our fleet. As the ship returns to service, we’re giving our guests a renewed onboard experience, blending relaxed sophistication, immersive dining, and destination-driven discovery,” said Bert Hernandez, president, Silversea.

“From refreshed spaces to refined culinary experiences, every update was thoughtfully designed to elevate how our guests spend their time onboard as the Silver Spirit embarks on immersive voyages through Northern Europe,” he added.

The 608-passenger ship welcomed guests back at the Italian port of Civitavecchia on May 8, 2026, kicking off a seven-night cruise to Lisbon.
