Informa Prestige, the luxury and lifestyle portfolio within Informa, has announced The Future of Refit, a new event focused on the global superyacht refit and maintenance sector.
The event will take place at the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco from 31 March to 2 April 2027. It will include an on-water display of refit yachts in the marina at Yacht Club de Monaco, which is partnering with the organisers.
Yacht Club de Monaco has previously introduced initiatives including the SEA Index, an international benchmark for assessing and reducing the carbon footprint of yachts, and the Monaco Energy Boat Challenge, which will hold its 14th edition from 29 June to 3 July 2027, with ePropulsion recently announcing its showcase of entries.
The Future of Refit forms part of Yacht Club de Monaco’s ‘Monaco, Capital of Advanced Yachting’ initiative, which brings together industry stakeholders to discuss topics including innovation, modernisation, performance and sustainability.
For Informa Prestige, which owns and operates the annual Monaco Yacht Show, the event marks its first professional platform dedicated solely to the superyacht refit market.

The value of the global superyacht refit industry is estimated at between US$3bn and US$5bn annually, with annual growth of between 6 and 9 per cent. Industry estimates suggest refit work accounts for around 36 per cent of earnings across the superyacht sector.
The market is supported by a fleet of more than 6,000 active superyachts measuring over 30 metres. A substantial proportion of these vessels is now entering its first or second major refit cycle following increased yacht construction during the 2000s and 2010s.
Owners typically spend around 10 per cent of a yacht’s value each year on operation and maintenance, while major refits generally take place every five to ten years.
Demand for refit work continues to be supported by environmental regulation, charter market requirements, limited availability of new-build slots at leading shipyards and the increasing technical complexity of modern superyachts.

Event details: The Future of Refit
The three-day event will combine a conference programme, a professional exhibition, and a marina display of refit yachts.
According to the organisers, the event is intended to provide a dedicated forum for refit and refurbishment at the start of the Mediterranean yachting season.
A central feature of the programme will be Refit Live, an interactive forum featuring keynote presentations, roundtable discussions, case studies and daily workshops.
Toby Moore, CEO of Informa Prestige, says: “Refit is no longer a secondary consideration within the superyacht industry – it is one of its defining economic realities. The owners, operators and specialists who make up this market have, for too long, had to conduct their most important professional conversations in the margins of events designed for other purposes.
“The Future of Refit addresses that unmet need directly – bringing together the full refit ecosystem around a dedicated programme covering refit, refurbishment and modernisation in all their dimensions, including Refit Live, an interactive designer masterclass that puts the creative and technical disciplines of refit centre stage. It is the right conversation, in the right place, at the right time – in Monaco, in the spring, at a moment in the superyacht calendar that is genuinely uncontested.”
Further details, including the conference programme, confirmed participants and exhibition opportunities, will be announced in the coming months.
