The Jotne Group has announced the launch of a new superyacht marina, FMV Vest Marina in Fredrikstad, Norway located on the Oslofjord just south of Oslo.
The FMV Vest Marina forms part of an ambitious urban redevelopment project that is transforming the city’s former shipyard site Fredrikstad Mekaniske Verksted (FMV) into a vibrant new waterfront district.
This large-scale project is set to reshape the heart of Fredrikstad, one of Norway’s oldest major cities. The development will include thousands of new seafront apartments, office spaces, retail areas and a hotel.
A key feature of the revitalised district is the new superyacht marina, which aims to position Fredrikstad as a prime destination for visiting superyachts and expedition cruise ships navigating Scandinavian waters.
Phase one of the marina officially opened in spring 2025 and currently offers berths for yachts up to 50 metres in length. The facility is ISPS compliant and provides a full range of amenities for yacht owners, guests and crew.
Future development phases will expand the marina’s capacity to accommodate superyachts up to 100 metres in length.
Situated in a region rich with maritime history and natural beauty, Fredrikstad provides a unique setting for yacht visitors. The city is renowned for its well-preserved fortress town and offers access to the Hvaler archipelago and national park, which are best explored by boat. Fredrikstad also enjoys a relatively mild southern climate and boasts a lively cultural scene and nightlife.
