Job Summary: The Senior Houseman knows and upholds company culture and all cleaning procedures as per our policies. The Senior Houseman is expected to assist and support the Executive Housekeeper in managing the entire houseman department. The Senior Houseman is highly organized with a strong work ethic driven by success, is confident in taking responsibility for the delivery of excellent service levels to the guests whilst ensuring that the villa is maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and organization.
General Duties and Responsibilities: • Ensure preventive and corrective maintenance of the real estate. • Assisting to maintain all records and inventories up to date and accurate. • Supervise and manage housekeeping staff, ensuring all tasks undertaken are completed efficiently and to a very high standard, giving appropriate direction where necessary. • Be able to adapt and be flexible to a variety of situations and remain effective, as well as reprioritizing objectives to meet changing demands. • Administrative duties; use of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and for data entry and records/system maintenance. • Responsible for the smooth flow and effective delivery of a high-end care & service to family and their guests. • Structure timetables & organise adequate break times for the team. • Assist, support and work together with the Head Houseman and Team Leaders ensuring a clear line of communication. • Communicating & informing fellow co-workers of family requests & preferences. • Ability to keep on top of the housekeeping stock with appropriate stock rotation. • Knowledge of required stock and ability to take inventory and place orders where required. • Maintain the highest level of cleanliness, organization and integrity within operations and family areas completing all assigned work thoroughly and efficiently • Report any incident, injury, damages or failures of equipment immediately verbally, followed by written documentation. • Ensure safe stowage of all equipment and valuables. • To be aware of any movements of the family around the property. • Knowledge and care of different surfaces: Gold leaf, Metal, Glass, Marble, Stainless steel, Wood, delicate fabric and special surfaces. • Able to plan and work in high and very high areas. • Knows the right chemical to use on different surfaces. • Knows and train how to use all cleaning tools (Including Machinery) . • Knows how to setup and shutdown an area. • Extra, special cleaning planning when off season. • To be cost conscious with the use of cleaning materials, linen, towel and other consumables. • To ensure that property is maintained properly and treated with respect at all times.
